On 21 March 2018, the Kaurna people were recognised as native title holders for lands around Adelaide. The decision is the first positive determination of native title over a capital city area since the creation of the Native Title Act in 1993.
This tram wrap incorporate's Violet Buckskin's (Rammindjeri, Kaurna, Boandik and Wodjabulok, Narungga, Ngadjuri, Wirangu Artist) artwork, commissioned by the Department for Infrastructure and Transport.
It was an honour to recognise the Kaurna Peoples and acknowledge the significant milestone when they were formally recognised as the owners of this land.
Always was, always will be, Kaurna Country.
